Grand Opening of Mee Chiet Factory
On November 2, 2019, One More Manufacturing Co., Ltd held an official grand opening ceremony of Mee Chiet factory, the first modern factory producing high quality instant noodles in Cambodia, presided over by H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, representative of Samdach Akkak Moha Sena Padai Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The purpose of the event is to celebrate and introduce a newly high quality instant noodle “Mee Chiet” to the public. Mee Chiet is an authentic Khmer product with Khmer taste, produced by using Japanese technology and machines and the best ingredients locally sourced and internationally imported from Australia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Lok Chumteav Choeung Sokuntheavy, Executive Director of One More Manufacturing Co. Ltd, said she is pleased that the government trusts and supports Mee Chiet factory which provides her the confidence and motivates her as a local investor to commit and work harder for the success of Mee Chiet.
“Mee Chiet is produced to fulfill the needs and meet popular taste of Cambodian people. It is developed through extremely diligent R&D, making it high quality product, benefiting to health with authentic Khmer taste. The introduction of this new local product is the new achievement and the new pride of the Cambodian people as a whole. Ltd and appreciates the company for investing in Mee Chiet factory, which also shows the new achievement of the government policy that have been trying to attract more local and international investors. H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, expresses his supports and officially opens the factory, said “This newly big and modern factory is another contribution of private sectors in the growth of Cambodian economy by creating more jobs and incomes for Cambodian people, and therefore improve their standard of living.”
Lok Chumteav Choeung Sokuntheavy said there are three key purposes in investing in Mee Chiet factory. First is to contribute to modernize the foods industry in Cambodia to be at same level in the neighboring countries. In other words, we want to reduce the imported products. Second is to fulfill the daily demand of Cambodian people who need local food that is hygiene, safe to eat, and high quality. The third is to create more job opportunities for Cambodian people which aligns with Cambodia Industrial Development Policy.
Mee Chiet has three flavors- Minced Pork, Chicken Soup and Beef Stew. All the flavors are developed through extremely diligent R&D to get authentic Khmer taste for Cambodian people.
Instant noodle is a popular food that can be consumed daily and fast to cook, the most suitable for those who don’t have much time to cook. Mee Chiet is suitable for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for people from all standard of livings.
Lok Chumteav Choeung Sokuntheavy also asks all Cambodian people to support this local product. She said Khmer must support Khmer for our prosperity and pride, for our next generation. We together work for betterment of our society.
H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth strongly believes and is strongly confident that “Mee Chiet will get supports from Cambodian people due to its high quality and popular Khmer taste.” He also calls for the public to support local products into order to strengthen and expand local companies.
He added that private companies shouldn’t only focus on generating incomes, but also are compliant with the environment and quality standards, pay taxes to government, and contribute back to society.
After ribbon cutting and signing ceremony, the honorable guests visited the production process of the factory. The more than 1,300 guests include monks, government officials, professors, students, local authorities, and local communities. Mee Chiet factory is located in Tropang Pouthi, Sangkat Kouk Roka, Khan Pousen Chey, Phnom Penh.
