COVID-19: Prevention in the Workplace
In the current pandemic, health authorities of World Health Organisation (WHO) are requesting social distancing. i.e., stay as far apart from others as possible. You should remain at home if possible. If coming to work is necessary, take precautions. The following is general prevention of COVID-19 in the workplace!
Practice good hygiene
- Check body temperature when entering office buildings
- Stop handshaking – use other noncontact methods of greeting
- Clean hands at the door and wash hands frequently
- Avoid touching your faces and cover coughs and sneezes
- Disinfect surfaces like doorknobs and desk regularly
- Increase ventilation by opening windows
- Avoid crowded lifts as far as possible
Be careful with meetings and travel
- Avoid holding or joining large-scale meetings, and reducing face-to-face contact with co-workers
- Use videoconferencing for meetings when possible
Handle food carefully
- Limit food sharing
- Strengthen health screening for cafeteria staff and their close contacts
- Ensure cafeteria staff and their close contacts practice strict hygiene
- Arrange flexible meal hours
Stay home if:
- If you feel unwell, don’t go to work and seek for prompt medical advise
